All Saints C of E Primary School – School Air Conditioning

Local primary school ‘All Saints Church Of England Primary School’ called in Kool-it to help them solve the problem of their assembly hall being too hot in summer and too cold in winter.

The existing boiler system wasn’t up to the job and it took hours to warm the area up before the pupils could use the area. Often they would find the hall would then get too hot and there was no way to effectively cool the area down – without opening fire escape doors and compromising site security.

Kool-it attended site to carry out a free of charge initial survey. It was found that the site had a pitched roof meaning that conventional in-ceiling cassette units could not be used. Kool-it proposed the use of two under-ceiling type systems,  one at either end of the hall, mounted to the ceiling.

The result is that warm or cool air is no flooded into the area to provide the desired conditions whatever the weather. A comfortable environment is achieved within 10 minutes of the systems being switched on – a huge improvement from before.

Initial reports back from the school have been very positive and they are looking forward to using the system when the weather warms up this summer!

In all a total of two Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Under Ceiling systems were installed coupled up to two inverter outdoor units.

The use of energy efficient Inverter driven condensing units meant that the school’s electric bills would be as low as possible. As the occupancy levels vary significantly during the day this is especially important as the inverters automatically vary their output depending on room conditions.

The job was completed in just four days and included:

  • 2 No. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries FDUM Series Inverter Under Ceiling Cassette Systems.
